ACS students infront of the Flying Eye Hospital In DaNang, Vietnam. Since 2000, American Community School (ACS) has partnered ORBIS to promote international education and global citizenship amongst its students. Every year, high achieving students go through a rigorous selection process for three internships onboard an ORBIS Flying Eye Hospital programme overseas.
The internships give students the opportunity to fully understand and participate in the work of an international NGO, both in the field and the London office. The students learn about important issues facing communities in developing countries and witness first-hand ORBIS's work tackling avoidable blindness and the importance of blindness prevention in alleviating poverty.
ACS International School, Doha kindly hosted a guest day for students, staff and parents in October 2012 when the Flying Eye Hospital visited Qatar.
