Rajasthan was known to the British Raj as the ‘Land of Kings’, a princely conglomerate of states that were once ruled over by the Rajput princes, men who left behind them a magnificent legacy of opulent palaces and beautifully ornate temples.
This unique challenge offers a chance to experience this remarkable culture from a wholly different perspective, as you race across its majestic landscapes from the lakeside palaces of Udaipur to the dunes of the Thar Desert. Beginning in Delhi, you will have an opportunity to explore something of the historic heart of the once great Mughal capital, before flying onto the serene setting of Udaipur, in Rajasthan’s far south-western corner. This is where your challenge will begin, running across landscapes steeped in the colour and history of centuries past. Running between 15 and 25 kilometres a day, you will pass through the rural heartland of Rajasthan, through villages and towns that are alive with tradition and colour. You will visit the stunning Jain temples at Ranakpur and the palaces of Jaipur and Jaisalmer. You will have a chance to explore the ‘Blue City’ of Jodphur, dominated by its magnificent fortress, and race out into the dunes of the Thar Desert.
This is an Indian adventure like no other, a challenge for body and mind that takes you through some of the most authentic landscapes on the Indian Subcontinent
